Atmospheric platformer 'Planet Alpha' announced for Xbox One and PC
Today, publisher Team17 and programmer Adrian Lazar announced Planet Alpha for Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation iv. The game is an atmospheric side-scrolling platformer which is coming out this year. According to the teams, the title combines fast maneuvers, artistic puzzles, stealth mechanics, and a vivid art style to create an unforgettable experience.
Players awake on a foreign conflicting globe that is home to many mysterious, exotic flora and fauna. As you lot explore the world around you, you'll uncover the ability to rotate and command the planet. This is the starting time time we've seen a game where yous take the ability to alter gravity by decision-making an entire planet. Puzzle experiences like The Bridge have similar mechanics but on a much smaller scale.
Development on Planet Alpha began in 2022 with Adrian Lazar was working on his ain game on the side. In 2022, he left his position at IO Interactive – the current developer behind the Hitman franchise and Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days – to focus on Planet Alpha full fourth dimension.
Lazar issued the following statement alongside his game's reveal.
Planet Blastoff is the work of passion of a pocket-size but very ambitious squad. Nosotros are building something special and we're putting everything we have into it. Developing the game for over iv years has been a roller coaster, so when we looked for a publisher we were very selective... I am thrilled to have found in Team17 a partner who can offer us the resources that we demand to bring this game to the players, merely more importantly I'm excited to have a partner that truly believes in Planet Alpha as much as we do. I cannot wait to share our cosmos with the earth.
The game looks quite unique so hopefully information technology'll live up to expectations when it launches later on this year.
